Evacuation order lifted for Cheery Creek homes

KAMLOOPS – Evacuation orders have been lifted near Kamloops.

Six properties are no longer in imminent danger in Cherry Creek, according to the Thompson Nicola Regional District, and the evacuation order has been lifted for them, though an evacuation alert is in place now incase circumstances change. The order was issued May 5.

The order has been lifted for:

• 1490 Greenstone Rd.
• 5080 and 5096 Lazy Acres Rd.
• 5012, 5064 and 5108 Trans Canada Hwy.

That includes Corine LeBourdais home and shop.

Five properties are still under under evacuation order in the same area as there is still a danger to life:

• 1472 and 1501 Greenstone Rd.
• 5160 and 5168 Beaton Rd.
• 5032 Trans Canada Hwy

Earlier this month water flowed freely over some of the properties, as shown in this video.
