KAMLOOPS – Kamloops RCMP are investigating a suspicious situation overnight after finding a scorched pickup truck in Batchelor Heights.
Just before 3 a.m. this morning, police were told a vehicle was on fire on North River Road. When they arrived at the scene, they found a 2012 Dodge Ram Pickup fully engulfed in flames.
"Nobody was located in the area," said Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush. "Investigators are deeming the fire is suspicious based on some evidence located."
Bush wouldn't talk about evidence because the investigation is still in progress. She said police don't believe the vehicle was stolen and that the owner is aware of the situation.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the local detachment at 250-828-3000 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
