Stabbing death of Burnaby, B.C., man was targeted, Vancouver police say
Vancouver police say they’re investigating the recent death of a 19-year-old man as a homicide.
Police say in a news release that they were called to a home on the city’s east side on Friday for a report that the man had been stabbed.
He was treated at the home by paramedics, but police say the teen was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
The victim is Thomas Simon from the neighbouring city of Burnaby.
Vancouver Const. Tania Visintin says witnesses report that three people dressed in black and wearing face masks were seeing leaving the area.
She says investigators believe this was a targeted attack and there are no public safety concerns.
