Freezing rain expected on Okanagan Connector

If you're travelling to Vancouver or Merritt today, be extra careful because you might encounter freezing rain on your trip.

According to a special weather statement from Environment Canada, a warm front will bring snow and freezing rain to the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna.

The freezing rain could result in icy road conditions.

Precipitation is expected over the highway passes which is expected to start as snow but change to rain late in the day. As freezing levels rise and the warm front moves across the interior icy road conditions are expected.

More information about road conditions is available at Drive B.C.

If conditions develop as expected, Environment Canada may raise the statement to advisory or warning.
