IHIT, Mounties investigating sudden death of Surrey, B.C., woman

SURREY, B.C. – British Columbia's homicide team has been called in to help Mounties investigate the death of a woman in Surrey.

The RCMP says it received a report around 8:30 p.m. Friday about a sudden death of a woman at a home in the city.

They say officers responded and found the 33-year-old inside the residence.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has now been called in to work in tandem with the RCMP, though the Mounties say they are still in the evidence-gathering phase of the investigation.

Police say they believe it is an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.

But, they are asking anyone with information to come forward.
