VIDEO: B.C. SPCA behind-the-scenes during devastating Interior wildfire season

While wildfires burned across the province this summer, authorities were working behind evacuation lines to mitigate the losses.

That includes B.C. SPCA constables, who saved animals of all sizes — from reptiles to horses — left behind while their owners fled to safety due to evacuation orders.

B.C. SPCA has posted a behind-the-scenes video to Facebook which shows officers attending to animals throughout the Interior to make sure they had a safe place to stay.

The post says it is worrisome to think intense wildfire season like the one this year could be a new trend.

"We truly hope not, but we need to be prepared."
