Canada’s Alex Gough finishes second at luge World Cup, Germany takes gold

WHISTLER, B.C. – Calgary’s Alex Gough took silver at the luge World Cup event in Whistler, B.C., on Saturday, finishing 0.133 seconds away from first place.

Gough finished just behind Germany’s Natalie Geisenberger, who completed her two runs in a combined time of 1 minute 13.412 seconds for gold.

Germany’s Anke Wischnewski, was third in 1:13.622.

Gough was fourth last week at the luge World Cup event in Winterberg, Germany, and won bronze in the first World Cup race of the season in Lillehammer, Norway three weeks ago.

The 26-year-old also won bronze at the world championship last year in Whistler.
