OHL hands 10-game ban to Barrie Colts defenceman Michael Webster

TORONTO – Barrie Colts defenceman Michael Webster was handed a 10-game suspension by the Ontario Hockey League on Wednesday for his actions in a loss to the Niagara IceDogs earlier this week.

Webster left his feet to deliver a bodycheck to the head of IceDogs forward Kyle Langdon in the first period of Monday’s game. Webster was given a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct on the play.

Niagara went on to win the game 6-3 to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference final.

The OHL also handed IceDogs forward Brendan Perlini a three-game ban for a cross-checking infraction. Both suspensions are effective immediately.

Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday night at the Meridian Centre.
