MEXICO CITY – Mexican authorities say they have arrested 10 people for allegedly participating in an international network of financial operators linked to criminal organizations and also seized more than $10 million in cash.
The federal Attorney General’s Office said Thursday that among those arrested during a series of raids in late May in Mexico City were six men from China and four suspects from Mexico. Authorities did not immediately respond to questions about the suspects’ immigration status.
Federal prosecutors say authorities also seized five properties, some Mexican currency and a handgun.
A statement says the suspects are expected to face charges of organized crime and use of illicit funds and illegal weapons possession. They will remain in jail while their case is pending.
