Two teens dead, two arrested following crash in Saskatoon with stolen truck

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police say two teenagers are dead and charges are pending against another teen and young woman following a dramatic crash involving a stolen truck.

Police say an officer was trying to stop the truck last night, and had activated his cruiser’s emergency equipment, when the truck sped through a busy intersection.

The truck crashed into two other vehicles, pushing one of them into a medical clinic on the corner.

Police say two 17-year-olds, a boy and girl, were killed and a 16-year-old girl in the same car was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old girl and 21-year-old woman in the truck were treated in hospital for minor injuries.

They are now in custody and police say they expect the pair will face numerous charges.

Police Chief Clive Weighill is to speak on the crash later today.
