Kelowna Rockets blast Cougars in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 4-1 on Saturday night in Prince George, sweeping the weekend double-header in Prince George.

The Rockets scored twice late in the third period to break open a tight game with Jackson Whistle earning the win in net.

Madison Bowey and Ryan Olsen staked Kelowna to a 2-1 lead after two periods before Kris Schmidli and Zach Franko, into an empty net, cemented the win for Kelowna in the third period.

The Rockets improved to 11-2-0-2 on the season.

On Friday night in Prince George the Rockets earned a 7-6 shootout victory.

The Rockets return to Prospera Place on Wednesday when they kick off a four game home stand by hosting the Red Deer Rebels (7 p.m.)
