Dean McDermott and star chefs return for season 2 of ‘Chopped Canada’
TORONTO – As tensions boil over in his much-publicized personal life, Canadian actor Dean McDermott is set to return to another hot situation — the kitchen of “Chopped Canada.”
Food Network Canada says McDermott will reprise his role as host of the culinary competition series, which was just renewed for a second season.
In January, McDermott’s publicist said he’d entered rehab for “some health and personal issues.”
And last month he and actress-wife Tori Spelling exposed their marital woes to TV audiences with “True Tori,” the latest in a series of reality shows they’ve done together.
Like its U.S. counterpart, “Chopped Canada” sees chefs cooking up dishes using mystery ingredients in an effort to win $10,000.
Star chefs Susur Lee, Lynn Crawford, Michael Smith, Roger Mooking, John Higgins, and Anne Yarymowich will return to judge the competitors in season 2.
New judges for season 2 will include Massimo Capra, Antonio Park and Eden Grinshpan.
