Hearing for brother accused of impersonating twin is delayed

PITTSBURGH – A preliminary hearing for the brother of Pennsylvania twins whom welfare caseworkers haven’t been able to locate for 10 years has been postponed.

Monday’s postponement means 18-year-old Datwon (DAY’-twahn) Fowler and his mother, 47-year-old Patrica Fowler, will both face a hearing Sept. 12.

They have been accused of lying to police about the whereabouts of Ivon and Inisha, who would be about 17 now.

Penn Hills authorities say Datwon Fowler phoned police and pretended to be Ivon so police would stop looking for the twins.

Both suspects maintain the twins are living out of state, but police say none of their claims has checked out.

Datwon Fowler remains jailed and doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records.
