Usher performs hometown concert at Chattanooga school

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The entertainer Usher has returned to his home town of Chattanooga to perform a concert at a school he attended as a boy.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports (http://bit.ly/2cNr31H ) that Friday night’s event at Dalewood Middle School was closed to the general public, but that hundreds gathered in nearby neighbourhoods to listen to the show and catch glimpses of the artist on jumbo screens.

The day before the concert, Usher spent time at the Studio Everything art space, talking to students about their creative projects. On his social media accounts, the singer urged people in town to donate to art programs.

Usher moved to Atlanta after completing middle school in Chattanooga.
