TORONTO – Receiver S.J. Green, who led the Montreal Alouettes past the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 31-29 last week, was named the CFL’s offensive player of the week Monday.

Green had 10 catches for 168 yards and a TD in the game Thursday night.

Defensive lineman Charleston Hughes of the Calgary Stampeders was named the top defensive player. He had one tackle, two sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles in a 17-10 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Teammate Jon Cornish was named the top Canadian. Cornish, of New Westminster, B.C., rushed for 159 yards on 24 carries against Saskatchewan.

Hamilton’s Chris Williams captured special-teams honours for the third time this season after registering two punt returns for 76 yards, including one for 70 yards and a touchdown, against Montreal. That tied Williams with Henry Williams, Bashir Levingston and Keith Stokes for the most kick-return TDs in a season with five.
