iN VIDEO: Dashcam catches B.C. transit bus running red light

KAMLOOPS – B.C. Transit is looking into a video posted to social media that shows a bus in Kamloops running a red light.

Marc Smith, who posted the dashcam video to Facebook, said it’s not the first time he’s seen this kind of driving from transit drivers.

The video shows the bus entering the intersection while the traffic light turns red. The bus makes a left-hand turn, cutting off motorists who had the green light.

The bus in the video is travelling the 1 Tranquille route, turning from Sydney Avenue on to Tranquille Road. The footage was taken at 8:05 p.m. on June 23.

B.C. Transit said it will follow up with the driver immediately but won't comment on what disciplinary action may be taken. The crown corporation said its top priority is safety and that all drivers must obey the rules of the road.
