Cyclist dies after crash with semi truck in Kelowna

KELOWNA – A 69-year-old Kelowna man has died after a collision with a tractor yesterday, Aug. 12.

The incident happened near the intersection of Dilworth Drive and Harvey Avenue.

“The cyclist, a 69-year-old Kelowna resident was transported to hospital,” RCMP Cpl. Meghan Foster said in a press release. “Efforts to save the cyclist's life were made but sadly he has succumbed to his injuries.”

The driver of the truck is cooperating with police. The name of the cyclist will not be released.

RCMP are still investigating and are asking anyone with information to call them at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
