UPDATE: Bomb scare over, Enterprise Way in Kelowna re-opened
KELOWNA – A bomb scare at a car dealership prompted Kelowna Mounties to shut down a portion of Enterprise Way Tuesday afternoon.
Cpl. Amadeo Vecchio said that a device that resembled a pipe bomb was found in a vehicle that had been turned in to Kelowna Chrysler. It turned out to be a tire inflation device, but before that was determined they evacuated a portion of the street.
The matter was complicated by the fact that someone had moved the item and the RCMP dogs had to locate it.
RCMP have re-opened the 2400 block of Enterprise Way between Leckie and Hunter roads.
Multiple businesses in the area were evacuated while the issue was dealt with.
