One dead in semi truck crash on Trans-Canada in Salmon Arm

A man died after crashing into a semi truck on the highway in Salmon Arm.

Salmon Arm RCMP and BC Highway Patrol were called to the scene of a serious crash in the 4100-block of the Trans-Canada Highway around 10:47 a.m. today, March 5, according to a press release from police.

The initial report shows that an eastbound minivan crossed the centre line and crashed straight into a westbound semi truck.

The male driver of the van died at the scene and the semi truck driver had minor injuries.

The highway is closed as police and the BC Coroners Service investigate.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
