Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg out 6-8 weeks with broken left wrist

WINNIPEG — Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg will be out six-to-eight weeks with a broken left wrist, head coach Scott Arniel said Monday.

Samberg was injured in Winnipeg’s 4-2 pre-season win over visiting Calgary on Saturday after he was hit by Flames forward Ryan Lomberg.

The 26-year-old from Hermantown, Minn., had 20 points (six goals, 14 assist) in 60 games during the 2024-25 season in which he missed seven weeks with a broken foot.

The six-foot-four blueliner also averaged over 21 minutes of ice time and was a team-best plus-34.

Samberg signed a three-year extension with an average annual value of $5.75 million with the Jets this past summer.

The Jets, who won the Presidents’ Trophy last season as the team with the best regular-season record, open the season at home Oct. 9 against Dallas.
