
iN NUMBERS: Warmest September on record for Okanagan, Kamloops
If you thought the weather in September was amazing you’d be right. It was a record setting September for warm temperatures in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
Heat records were broken last month around the province especially in the Southern Interior. Unfortunately the unusually warm weather came with very little rain.
Here are the numbers:
- 0: Septembers on record were hotter than this one in Kamloops, Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton.
- 16: Degrees Celsius is the normal mean temperature for Kamloops and the Okanagan in September.
- 19.4: Degrees Celsius was the mean temperature this September for our region.
- 4: Daily high temperature records were broken in Kamloops, meaning the high for a certain date was the highest on record.
- 5: Daily high temperature records were broken in Kelowna.
- 5: Daily high temperature records were broken in Vernon.
- 2: Daily high temperature records were broken in Penticton.
- 3.4: Millimetres of rain fell in Kamloops in September and the usual amount is 24 mm.
- 1.9: Millimetres of rain fell in Kelowna in September and the usual amount is 32.4 mm.
