Mount St. Mary’s plays Merrimack following Kennerly’s 30-point performance

BOTTOM LINE: Mount St. Mary’s faces Merrimack after Gabrielle Kennerly scored 30 points in Mount St. Mary’s 65-55 victory against the Iona Gaels.

The Warriors have gone 2-2 at home. Merrimack is 2-4 in games decided by at least 10 points.

The Mountaineers have gone 2-0 against MAAC opponents. Mount St. Mary’s ranks sixth in the MAAC with 11.9 assists per game led by Giana Hoddinott averaging 2.6.

Merrimack scores 68.5 points, 6.3 more per game than the 62.2 Mount St. Mary’s allows. Mount St. Mary’s 38.1% shooting percentage from the field this season is 4.3 percentage points lower than Merrimack has allowed to its opponents (42.4%).

The matchup Monday is the first meeting of the season for the two teams in conference play.

Kennerly is shooting 40.3% from beyond the arc with 2.6 made 3-pointers per game for the Mountaineers, while averaging 16 points and 1.8 steals. Hoddinott is shooting 35.5% and averaging 6.7 points over the last 10 games.
