OTTAWA — The Ottawa Senators have signed left-winger Blake Montgomery to a three-year entry-level contract, the NHL team announced Wednesday.
Montgomery will join the American Hockey League’s Belleville Senators on an amateur tryout agreement before his new deal begins in the 2026-27 season.
The 20-year-old from Bowie, Md., had nine goals and eight assists in 37 games as a freshman with the Wisconsin Badgers last season. He helped the team reach the NCAA final, where it lost 2-1 to the Denver Pioneers.
Previously, he played one season with the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights, where he had 50 points in 51 games and helped the team win the 2025 Memorial Cup championship.
Ottawa selected the six-foot-four, 182-pound forward in the fourth round (117th overall) at the 2024 NHL draft.
The Senators were scheduled to finish their regular season Wednesday night against visiting Toronto before taking on the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
