Conservative Sen. Marjory LeBreton calling for audit of all Senate expenses
OTTAWA – The Conservative leader in the Senate plans to ask the auditor general to look into all the expenses of the upper chamber.
Sen. Marjory LeBreton says she will introduce a motion Tuesday calling for a comprehensive audit of expenses.
The move follows efforts to toughen the rules about Senate travel and expenses.
Ethics officers are in the process of investigating expense claims from several senators, including Mike Duffy.
LeBreton’s move will put the whole chamber under scrutiny.
