Blue Bombers have two healthy, talented running backs this season

WINNIPEG – Chad Simpson doesn’t like to measure his career by statistics, but the numbers certainly like the Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back.

He racked up more than 1,000 yards in his debut season last year and didn’t play in four games.

Simpson played with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts before joining the Bombers.

He says if he focuses on his game, the numbers will take care of themselves.

Fellow running back Chris Garrett is back at camp and says he feels great now that he’s recovered from an Achilles tendon injury.

Winnipeg coach Tim Burke says there is room for both imports but it would leave only a practice roster spot for a third.
