Ottawa Senators recall forward Mika Zibanejad from AHL Binghamton

OTTAWA – The Senators have recalled forward Mika Zibanejad from Binghamton of the American Hockey League.

Zibanejad was expected to make the team out of training camp, but Ottawa coach Paul MacLean wasn’t impressed with the 20-year-old’s conditioning, attitude or play.

MacLean said Zibanejad let other players take his job.

Now he has the chance to reclaim it, potentially starting Wednesday when the Senators visit former captain Daniel Alfredsson and the Detroit Red Wings.

Zibanejad led the AHL team with seven points (two goals, five assists) in six games this season.

Last season, Zibanejad had 20 points (7-13) in 42 games with Ottawa.
