KAMLOOPS – An investigation is underway after a body was found in the Thompson River just west of Kamloops Thursday afternoon.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Cheryl Bush says the body was found "on a sand bar west of the Tranquille farm area" on March 5.
Coroners retrieved the body by boat with help from Kamloops Fire Rescue.
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating the cause of death and identity of the deceased.
Bush says the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
