Penticton man arrested and facing charges of robbery and assault

A 27-year-old Penticton man is in custody facing charges in connection with a robbery and assault on Main Street last month.

The robbery happened at around 11:30 p.m., Sept. 11, in the area of Main Street and White Avenue West, according to an RCMP media release.

At the time, RCMP issued a release asking for a witness to the robbery, who was driving a silver Ford Taurus, to contact police. RCMP said investigators would still like to speak with the potential witness.

RCMP haven’t released any details about the robbery and assault itself, and said they don’t plan to given the fact the matter is now before the courts.

Tryce Bowman, 27, of Penticton has been charged with robber, assault with a weapon and disguising his face with the intent to commit an offence. He is being held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for Oct. 9.

In an unrelated matter, Bowman was charged with breaching a probation order in August 2025, according to court documents.

“This arrest reflects the dedication and persistence of our investigators, who worked diligently to identify and locate the suspect,” RCMP Supt. Beth McAndie said in the release.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 and reference file number 2026-15066.
