Wanted Penticton man arrested in Ontario

By Shannon Quesnel

A wanted Penticton man, considered a high-risk to re-offend, was arrested in Dryden, ON yesterday.

Philipe Poisson, 21, was arrested at a junior A hockey game at Dryden Memorial Arena says Insp. Kevin Glenister.

Dryden officers were called to deal with a suspicious man making inappropriate comments.

When police confronted Poisson, the suspect gave a false name and birthdate when asked for identification. They learned Poisson was wanted in B.C. and had violated several release conditions.

Dryden police arrested him and Poisson was charged with five counts of failing to comply with instructions, obstructing police and making a threat. Poisson had allegedly stated he wanted to kill the officers.

Poisson will be before an Ontario bail court sometime next week says Glenister.
