West Kelowna RCMP investigating fatal accident

West Kelowna RCMP officers are investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle on Horizon Drive.

On Aug. 19, at roughly 5:40 p.m., police officers responded to a fatal collision in West Kelowna involving a pedestrian, according to the RCMP in a press release.

"This collision is currently being investigated by the RCMP Traffic Analyst Service, BC Coroner Service, the Kelowna RCMP Regional Detachment Forensic Investigational Service and the West Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section," according to the RCMP.

Alcohol and speed were not contributing factors to the collision and the incident is currently under investigation, according to police. A man died in the collision.

The RCMP is asking anyone with more information, including dash cam footage, around the area of Horizon Rd between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880 and quote file 2022-52348.
