Barriere RCMP have one man in custody after a shooting last night.
A 9-1-1 caller first alerted police to several gunshots coming from the 4200 block of Peterson Betts Road just before 7 p.m. yesterday, Sept. 6.
Before officers got there, a second caller from the male victim said a man shot at him and his vehicle with a rifle, according to a Barriere RCMP news release.
Clearwater RCMP, the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and a police dog unit later helped arrest a 49-year-old suspect without incident after he was "quickly identified," according to the release.
The suspect and the victim know each other, but police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting, RCMP said.
The suspect remains in custody at this time.
