Mess on Highway 5 slows traffic

KAMLOOPS – Southbound traffic on Highway 5 is down to one lane after a pickup truck lost a load of cinder blocks around 3:30 this afternoon.

Multiple police cars are on scene making sure oncoming traffic doesn't hit them. RCMP Staff Sgt. Doug Aird said a truck lost its trailer of roughly four pallets of cinder blocks, possibly because it was too heavy.

Cinder blocks are strewn across the highway and into the ditch making driving in one lane impossible

Police are starting to leave the scene and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement is investigating. A tractor-trailer truck is being towed out.
