Here’s your chance to see a water bomber up close
KELOWNA – Members of the public and aviation enthusiasts of all ages are invited to meet some of the men and women who fight fires from above this week.
The Kelowna and District Flying Club is hosting the event, which includes a catered dinner and flight crew meet and greet Wednesday, April 22 at Kelowna International Airport. There will also be a Buffalo Airways Ltd. CL-215 Water Bomber, which is used to drop water on forest fires.
The gate to Apron III will be open to the public from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The event is a fundraiser for the club’s June 6 COPA for Kids event and donations will be accepted.
Admission without the dinner is $8 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under. For the catered dinner admission is $15 for adults and $8 for kids. Those interested in attending are encouraged to book ahead through the Flying Club website.
