

Drivers can expect temporary closures along Interior highways this morning.
DriveB.C. is reporting maintenance work on Highway 1 in Kamloops and the westbound lane is closed for five kilometres between Vicars Road and Summit Drive. It is expected to reopen at 10:30 a.m.
Highway 1 will also be impacted by avalanche control work today, which is happening between Rogers Pass Summit and Beaver Valley Road. Road closures can last up to 1.5 hours and will continue until 2 p.m.
Highway 97C has some slushy sections for 22 km between Highway 97 to Brenda Mine Road. There are slippery sections and fog patches from nearly 50 km from Highland Valley Copper Mine to the end of Highway 97C, and slippery sections from Trepanier Road to Merritt for 83 kilometres.
Highway 5 may have a slippery stretch. Drivers are advised to watch out between the Portia and Walloper exits – a span of 124 km.
For the weather, in Kamloops and Vernon there will be a high of -3 C and low of -6 C, according to the Environment Canada. Kelowna and Penticton will get a high of -2 C and low of -5 C. Skies are expected to be cloudy across the region.
