An elderly woman drove through the window of a building in Kelowna today causing significant damage to both the building and her silver Subaru SUV.
The driver was shopping at a Kelowna mall in the 1800 block of Cooper Road today, Nov. 16, and while attempting to park accidentally pressed the accelerator, according to an RCMP media release. RCMP did not identify the building or provide an exact address.
The driver and people inside they building weren't injured.
“This could have easily resulted in injury or worse, we are grateful the only damage was to the vehicle and to the building,”Kelowna media relations officer Const. Mike Della-Paolera said in the release.
The driver was sober and was very remorseful for what occurred, RCMP said. No charges will be laid.
