iN VIDEO: Terrorized victim in Kamloops road rage incident still shaken as TikTok goes viral

Pippa Epp was the victim of an angry assault by another driver in Kamloops last week, and she recorded part of it with her cell phone.

The conflict sparked up while Epp was stopped at a light at Tranquille Road and Desmond Street around 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 28.

“The driver was a guy who pulled up to me at the lights right beside the Tim Hortons,” she said. “The passenger was a woman. They were yelling at me, telling me I’m a bad driver.”

What started as a verbal attack quickly heated up to a physical one when the male driver threw a cup of coffee at her through her open window, then when the light turned green, cut her off and yelled at her to pull over. She pulled over and started recording.

Things only got worse, and not a single driver on the busy street stopped to help.

“The guy and girl immediately got out and approached me,” she said. “I had my phone in my hand. They were yelling and I was frozen in shock. She was going in front of him and he was going in front of her yelling at me, it was chaos. I didn’t know what to do.”

Epp said she stopped recording and phoned the police.

“They saw me dial 911 and quickly went back to their vehicle and left,” she said.

She was able to provide police with a license plate number and a file has been opened. iNFOnews is waiting to hear back from Kamloops RCMP about the incident.

Meantime, Epp is left shaken by the incident and the fact no one stopped to help her.

“I didn’t think about it in the moment but looking back at it the road wasn’t empty, there were lots of people around who could have stepped in to help,” she said. “I think everyone is fearful of getting involved these days.”

Epp said her TikTok video is currently at 1.7 million views.

“I had a small following and I didn’t expect this much attention, it is crazy,” she said. She doesn’t know the man involved in the incident and has no intention of finding him. She is hoping he will get an assault charge and that he won’t do the same thing to someone else.

“It is not OK to treat people like that,” she said. “I'm hearing of other road rage incidents in Kamloops. I truly feel it wouldn’t have happened if I was a male.

“I have been getting help from friends driving because I’m afraid I will find someone who is not in a good mood again. I will never pull over again, I was scared he was going to follow me if I kept driving.”
