Flashy cars, wine, cider and spirits to be celebrated Mexican style in Kelowna

KELOWNA – The inaugural Taco Vino “tasting experience” will heat up Kelowna on Oct. 19.

It’s all part of the B.C. Wine Cider & Spirits Festival and will be held at the new Jaguar Land Rover dealership at 839 Finns Road from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The event will feature low-rider cars, Mexican Food, Fresh is Best, Spanish music from DJ Froggy Stylz, an onsite liquor store presented by Public Liquor, a safe ride home.

Wine samples will be provided by the hatch, Intrigue Wines, Intersection Estate Winery, Lake Breeze Vineyards, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, The Vibrant Vine and more.

Tickets are $85 and can be bought at bcwinefestival.com.

Rob Munro has a long history in journalism after starting an underground newspaper in Whitehorse called the Yukon Howl in 1980. He spent five years at the 100 Mile Free Press, starting in the darkroom, moving on to sports and news reporting before becoming the advertising manager.
