Spartan Energy Corp. (TSX:SPE). Oil and gas. Down eight cents, or 2.34 per cent, to $3.34 on 9.04 million shares.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Down 20 cents, or 5.09 per cent, to $3.73 on 8.5 million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Down 16 cents, or 5.10 per cent, to $2.98 on 8.3 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 22 cents, or 4.92 per cent, to $4.25 on seven million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down $1.12, or 5.42 per cent, to $19.54 on 6.2 million shares.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX:VRX). Pharmaceutical. Down 65 cents, or 3.34 per cent, to $18.79 on 2.1 million shares. More than a month after it received takeover offers for the stomach-drug business Salix, the company says it’s planning to grow the franchise it views as core to its turnaround. Chief executive Joseph Papa said Wednesday the Quebec-based company will try to expand the sale of prescriptions for products like Xifaxan by launching a program early next year directed at primary care physicians.
