PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – B.C. RCMP are asking for help from the public to determine what sparked a large wildfire raging in the province's Central Interior.
Police say they believe the blaze was human caused and that they have pinpointed where it began.
The fire was first reported more than a week ago southwest of Prince George and has since grown to encompass more than 240 square kilometres.
The flames have forced the evacuation of dozens of homes around Norman Lake and Bobtail Lake.
Residents in neighbouring areas have been put on evacuation alert while hundreds of firefighters work to contain the blaze.
The province's Wildfire Management Branch is also on the scene of half a dozen other fires, most of which were sparked by lightning in the Cariboo region on Friday.
