iN VIDEO: Folk and Summer Vibes with Music at Mackie

Coldstream was jamming out to some folk and bluegrass Friday evening in the backyard of the historic Mackie Lakehouse. The event has been running for over 10 years, and each summer the foundation hosts live music for music fans to come and enjoy wine, snacks, and the nice summer sunset just off Kalamalka Lake.

An air quality warning was in effect earlier in the day and thankfully didn’t worsen into the evening, as staff were on standby around 3:30 pm waiting to see if the quality would improve. The event was still able to proceed, and guests began arriving at the doors for 6 pm.

Opening for the night was Those Folk, a folk duo based out of Pomona, Queensland. Lawrence Menard and Clare Quinn played accordion, mandolin, and guitar, and sang in great harmony together to warm up the crowd for Moranz and Fremlin to go on after them.

Ryland Moranz unfortunately had to play solo for the evening as Dan Fremlin was unable to attend the event due to growing forest fire concerns near home. He performed a great solo performance and entertained the crowd with his funny stories behind the lyrics and songs.
