Bicyclist critically hurt in hit-and-run crash in Delaware

BETHANY BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police say a bicyclist is in critical condition after being hit by a car troopers say left the scene in Bethany Beach.

The agency said in a news release that 20-year-old Anastasia Ciolpan of Moldova is in critical condition at Christiana Hospital, where she was taken after the Wednesday night crash.

Police say Ciolpan was riding her bike south on the southbound shoulder of Kent Avenue. Officers say a car hit Ciolpan from behind, knocking her two the ground. Authorities say the car drove away without stopping.

Troopers say the driver of the car has been identified, but no charges have been filed. The incident is under investigation.
