Lucky lottery trend in the North Okanagan continues with yet another winner

COLDSTREAM – The North Okanagan appears to be on a lucky streak with three winning lottery tickets bought in the region in the last two months.

The area has been on a roll since April 1, when a Vernon couple won $5.8 million. The trend continued when an Enderby woman went home with $1 million, and with the latest winner, Coldstream resident Caroline Longval.
 
Longval received the winning $500,000 Lotto Max ticket as an impromptu “I love you gift” from her husband, who bought it at the Coldstream Market, BCLC said in a media release. He doesn’t normally purchase the Extra, but on this occasion, he did, and it definitely worked out.
 
While checking the ticket at the Go Mart in Coldstream, Longval was in for a big surprise when she discovered she had matched all four numbers on the May 22 Lotto Max Extra draw. She even fell to the ground with tears of joy.
 
“This was a very nice and unexpected moment,” Longval said. “I am very grateful.”
 
Longval and her family recently moved to the area and are now looking forward to purchasing a home for her family without the burden of a mortgage. But first she plans to host a dinner party to celebrate the win with friends and family.
 
“It feels great to be a lottery winner,” she said. “We will definitely keep playing to see if we can keep the momentum going.”
 
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen just how long this lucky streak will last in the North Okanagan.
