B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up eight cents, or 1.78 per cent, to $4.58 on 6.8-million shares.
Iamgold Corp. (TSX:IMG). Miner. Down 80 cents, or 10.70 per cent, to $6.68 on 6.1-million shares.
Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Down eight cents, or 1.21 per cent, to $6.55 on six-million shares.
Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Up four cents, or 0.35 per cent, to $11.51 on 5.8-million shares.
Aureus Mining Inc. (TSX:AUE). Miner. Down half-a-cent, or 7.69 per cent, to six cents on 5.2-million shares.
Companies reporting major news:
Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX:VRX). Pharmaceutical. Up C$7.37, or 24.97 per cent, to C$36.88 on four-million shares. Valeant is reporting a US$302-million net loss for its second quarter — nearly six times bigger than during the same period last year. The Laval, Que.-based company also had lower adjusted earnings, which fell to US$488 million from US$751 million in the second quarter of 2015.
