Robbery at a Penticton Scotiabank branch

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect after bank robbery earlier this week.

Police were called to the Scotiabank branch at 2062 Main St. at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 after bank employees reported a robbery.

RCMP say a man entered the bank and handed a note to a staff member declaring a robbery and got away with some cash.

Police believe the man may be connected with other robberies in northern B.C.

The suspect is described as being in his early 20s and between 5'7" and 5'9" tall. He was wearing dark glasses, a ball cap, shorts, an Adidas jacket and was carrying a “man bag” off the shoulder.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the bank robbery are asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
