NEW YORK – A New York City woman has been arrested after police say she crashed her car into the side of a building at Kennedy International Airport, injuring a National Guardsman.

A police spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says Tanya Hernandez was arrested on drunken driving and drug charges following the Wednesday morning crash.

Spokesman Joe Pentangelo says there was no structural damage to JFK building 111 after the 30-year-old Queens woman drove over a curb and slammed into its glass front.

He says a National Guardsman was released Thursday from a hospital with wrist and knee injuries.

Hernandez was in custody and unavailable to comment. It wasn’t clear if she had an attorney.

Pentangelo says her license has been suspended on two prior occasions.
