Kelowna woman wins $500,000 in Lotto Max Extra draw
KELOWNA – At her husband’s suggestion, reluctant lottery player Michelle Schulte of Kelowna agreed to buy Lotto Max tickets, and they won big.
Schulte picked up a cheque for $500,000 from the B.C. Lottery Corp. head office in Kamloops yesterday, June 18.
Schulte says she got an email to say she won a prize in the June 12, 2015, Lotto Max draw. It turned out she had matched all four Extra numbers.
“I followed the link and I didn’t quite understand or believe it. I had to ask my son if this was real,” Schulte says in a media release. “We all jumped up and down and started calling our family and friends to let them know this windfall had come our way.”
Schulte says the win has changed her life and plans to spend some of the money on a helicopter adventure for her family, adding the rest of the money will go into her retirement fund.
The Okanagan seems to be on a bit of a roll lately when it comes to lottery wins.
Most recently Irene Vestner of Penticton won $1 million in the Lotto 6/49 draw on May 30 and Brittany Powell won $1 million on a Lotto Max ticket.
There have been three winning lottery tickets sold in the North Okanagan over the last two months.
A Vernon couple won $5.8 million on April 1, Enderby’s Tanya Williams was handed a cheque for $ 1 million from a May Maxmillions prize and Coldstream’s Caroline Longval won $500,000 in the May 22 Lotto Max draw.

I use to be a very poor man who has always not find luck when it comes to playing the lottery.
