Salmon Arm man charged in several Kelowna business break-ins

A Salmon Arm man is custody facing several counts of break and enter in connection to several Kelowna business break-ins.

The string of break and enters started on April 15 when an automotive shop in the 1700 block of Harvey Avenue hit, according to an RCMP media release issued today, April 28. Property inside a vehicle that was in the shop for service was stolen.

Gary Gadawski of Salmon Arm was arrested later that day. He appeared in court the next day and was released with conditions.

Then on April 18 and 19 police were called to break-ins at two retail outlets in the 400 block of Bernard Avenue.

On April 20, two service businesses in the 500 block of Bernard Avenue were broken into. An employee at one of the businesses said the thief stole a computer and several other items.

“Based on a review of the evidence, police believed that Gadawski was responsible for these alleged offences, as well,” the RCMP release reads.

Gadawski, who was born in 1993, was arrested and is facing four counts of break and enter and theft, and failing to comply with a release order. He is scheduled to appear in court, April 29.

RCMP encourage Kelowna business owners to have a look at the city’s Business Safety Toolkit and learn how they can protect their businesses from crime.
