Kelowna firefighters raced to 754 Lawson Ave. at 5:35 a.m. after receiving reports of a house on fire.
When the first engine arrived, the crew saw flames and smoke coming from the side of the house. On closer inspection, they realized a large cedar fence next to the building was on fire and moved fast to dowse the flames. As a result of their quick action, damage was contained to the exterior of the house only.
Responding to the fire were three engines, one rescue vehicle and one command vehicle along with 13 personnel.
There were no injuries from this fire and the cause is unknown at this time. RCMP and Kelowna Fire Dept. continue their investigation.
