Drug dealers testify against Baltimore Police at trial

BALTIMORE – Several admitted drug dealers with federal immunity deals have testified against Baltimore Police Department Gun Trace Task Force officers.

The Baltimore Sun reports the dealers took to the stand Wednesday, describing theft, intimidation and extortion by the officers.

Ronald Hamilton was one of those testifying — he said Detective Jemell Rayam stole $3,400 from him. Rayam has admitted to this robbery and pleaded guilty.

Hamilton says Sgt. Wayne Jenkins — who also pleaded guilty — then pretended to be a federal prosecutor before the two officers stole $25,000 from Hamilton’s home.

Several task force members are accused of scamming suspected drug dealers and stealing thousands in unearned overtime pay; six have pleaded guilty, four are testifying for the government and two are being tried on racketeering charges.
