VANCOUVER – The B.C. Lions are short at running back after Brandon Rutley was placed on the six-game injured list with a right ACL tear on Friday.
The Lions already were missing starting running back Jeremiah Johnson, who sat out last Friday’s game in Ottawa against the Redblacks with an ankle injury.
Rutley, who was hurt in Ottawa, will now miss at least the next four weeks.
Chris Rainey dressed as the other running back for the Lions in Ottawa, but he also plays a big role on special teams.
The Lions are on a bye week this week. B.C.’s next game is next Saturday in Calgary against the Stampeders.
